Apsley Community Centre - Ice Surface
International comedy hypnotist Hank Stone is coming to Apsley to perform
his comedy hypnosis show live at the Apsley Community Centre on Friday,
August 21st.
Come out to one of the best audience participation shows of 2009 for a
night of good, clean fun where you’ll laugh with your friends and
family, not at them.
Doors open at 7:15pm, show starts at 8:00pm sharp.
This is a licensed, all ages event with proceeds from alcohol sales going
to the Apsley Lion's Club.
Tickets $10 in advance for adults (18+), $15 at the door
Children / Youth (under 18) only $5 *

Adding to the hustle and bustle of Saturday mornings is the Apsley Village
Market. Located beside the Royal Canadian Legion and open rain or shine,
it offers an array of handmade and unique items and services. All produced
by artisans living in the area, the selection can range from stained glass,
jewelry, and rag rugs to free range eggs and baked goods. You won’t
want to miss our weekly BBQ featuring ostrich burgers and other favorites.
Come and learn something new, taste something new, and best of all, buy
something locally made!

Lions Club's Annual Community Parades
Canada Day Parade: Wednesday, July 1, 2009
Christmas Parade: (date TBA for 2009)
Each year the Apsley Lions Club sponsors the Canada Day and Christmas
parades. Always a well attended event make sure to come out and take part
in the celebrations! The parades run from the Apsley Public School to
the Community Centre along Burleigh Street, turning left onto Wellington
Street at the L.C.B.O.

Autumn Studio Tour

19 & 20, 2009;
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Apsley Autumn Studio Tour is renowned for the quality of the artists
working in a variety of disciplines. Located in the North Kawarthas, many
of the studios are tucked away in beautiful, scenic locations where our
local artists and guests present new and exciting works created specifically
for this annual event.
Immerse yourself in a weekend of interesting and engaging art set against
a backdrop of beautiful fall colour. Come for a day or for the weekend;
stay in a local bed & breakfast and enjoy a leisurely tour of our
countryside and a warm welcome at our studios.

Lions Winter Carnival
Currently planning for Winter 2010
 Saturday:
Dog sled races, horse drawn sleigh rides, dog sled rides, ski-joring,
live outdoor music, children's games, local vendors with displays, local
artisan's selling art works, food on-site, public skating, trappers carnival
plus mush, mush more. Roast beef dinner hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 381 Saturday afteroon.
Sunday: Pancake breakfast followed by a figure skating
carnival.
